John Stones wanted in connection with Bus Stop damage

Police want to identify a man in connection with damage to two bus shelters.

They think it could be the England centre-back John Stones.

Other individuals were seen climbing onto, and jumping from, the bus shelters in St George Street at around 5.30pm on Saturday. The damage will cost an estimated four-figure sum to repair, and the police want to speak to anyone in connection with the incidents.

There were a large number of people in St George Street at the time following England’s World Cup match against a top side.

One eyewitness said, “I don’t get it. One minute he’s at the World Cup, the next he’s cheering on top of a bus shelter; it’s crazy”.
