Born and bred Scottish salmon are in protest against being packaged and sent to local supermarkets.
New figures released by HMRC show the highest ever value for Scottish salmon exports is going directly to refrigerated Morrison’s shelves in the north of the UK.
One salmon said. “Living in Scotland is bloody miserable for starters. We have to put up with this crap weather everyday; it’s not on! I would like to be eaten fresh in Italy, Croatia, Spain, or somewhere hot, not bought in Morrisons; we deserve better than that.”
It’s thought that many salmon stocks will begin escaping soon towards Norwegian waters where exports to hot European destinations are on the rise.
